Do I have to drink my coffee black? What can I put in my coffee?

Short Answer:

Ideally, if consuming coffee in the morning before your first meal, you will drink it black. If you are looking for a little sweetness, consider using a few drops of liquid stevia.

Longer Answer:

It is our goal to consume 0 calories before your first meal so we can create a mini-fast of sorts that started the evening before after finishing your dinner. This is especially important if you're delaying your first meal of the day. This helps keep our insulin/blood sugar levels suppressed, allowing our bodies to burn more fat. Additionally, our fat-burning hormones are at peak levels in the morning hours as well so you can hopefully achieve maximum results by consuming 0 calories. This unfortunately means drinking your coffee black without added creamers, sugar, and (especially!) artificial sweeteners/flavorings. There are some very powerful anti-oxidants in coffee that can be slightly diluted when you add anything to them. We know it's difficult for some people to switch to black after years of adding to it but after awhile, you can develop a taste of the richness/boldness of a nice, fair-trade organic coffee.
However, if you must add some sweetener, using a few drops of liquid stevia can help.
