Can I do FM30X when Pregnant/Nursing?

Question:

Can I do FM30X when Pregnant? What if I'm Nursing?

Short Answer:

While there are many healthy takeaways you can find from our FM30X programming, please consult with your OB-GYN before starting any program with us.

Longer Answer:

The secret sauce behind the FM30X programming comes down to A LOT of common sense. The foods we recommend to consume are more natural, whole-based foods, with minimal artificial ingredients that can be harmful to yours (and your baby's) health. However, there are some extra precautions those that are pregnant should consider (i.e. not consuming deli meat) so please consider reviewing the program with your doctor before starting.

In terms of the exercise routines, the general rule of thumb is that exercising in a manner that is consistent with what you were doing before pregnancy is approved. So if exercising in a similar manner to our FM30X routines, you are probably OK starting the routine. However, if coming from a more sedentary lifestyle, the FM30X routines may be too intense to take on when pregnant. But once again, that doesn't mean you can't take ideas from the incredibly nutritious meal plan that is in place! And the routines are yours to keep and are excellent to do post-delivery. One thing that almost everyone can do is daily walking. If you are unsure with where you stand, please consult with your OB-GYN.

The trickiest aspect while pregnant OR nursing is your caloric intake. Eating at a deficit for those with moderate or little weight to lose, is not recommended as a caloric surplus is necessary for the baby's development. Plus, the amount necessary will vary, depending on the trimester. However, with a BMI over 30, it may be possible. But once again, a discussion with your doctor is our recommendation at this time.

Lastly, please remember that weight-gain during pregnancy is perfectly normal. That doesn't mean you have free rein to eat whatever you want as we still want you feeding yourself and your baby nutritious fare! A healthy pregnancy is the most important thing and besides, the routines will be waiting for you after delivery when you are in an excellent spot to help remove some of the "baby weight".
